Hi, I’m Melissa, the creator behind Wanderful Traveler. My Instagram and website is designed to help explorers like you discover amazing destinations, experiences and products so that you can live your best life.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, I bought a one-way ticket abroad (after a year of planning and saving) to live out my dream of immersing myself in a foreign culture. Since I left in 2016, I have lived in Amsterdam, London and Brisbane! From dodging the traffic in Los Angeles, to mastering the bikes in Amsterdam, minding the gap in London… to now hanging with koalas in Australia!
My wanderlust comes from my parents (thanks Mom and Dad), who make it a goal to travel somewhere new once a year, even if it’s a road trip to the next city. My first solo international experience was studying abroad in Brighton, England and it was a great experience being able to jet off to different parts of Europe on the weekends. Ever since, I have been determined to see more of the world! 50+ countries across 6 continents later…

My Travel Style
I endeavour to find the perfect balance between tourist and local on all my adventures. To me, travel is about venturing out into the unknown and pushing out of our comfort zones. It means experiencing other cultures, trying new food and having fun doing it!
I feature a mixture of luxury and cultural experiences — a combination of comfort, convenience and variety. Think Michelin-star restaurants, authentic local dining experiences, beautiful resorts (like my stay to access a private island to hand feed flamingoes) and unique Airbnb’s.
